Wed Jan 29, am I am working with a student who has this same problem. We’re all running Logic Pro X. She is temping a short film as an assignment and she used audio files she downloaded from iTunes. It works fine on her computer, and then when she puts it on a thumb drive and tries to put it on the main computer to show the class, we get an error message saying that the audio files are 8 bit and can’t work in Logic Pro X. It really doesn’t make any sense that these would be 8 bit audio files, does it?

We’re both running apple computers, her’s is a Macbook Pro and the other computer is an iMac. Both running OS X. Any help would be much appreciated! Late Mac Pro 2. Can I get rid of that problem just by copying my project on a Mac Formatted drive? My main Mac got hit by a lightning so I put the ssd drive into an older Mac Pro. All worked fine. Now all that I record gets changed into 8bit or the Mac gets confused with the files.
