For example: To switch to Hiragana mode, click on the Input Style button on the Japanese language bar. This brings up a drop-down list of input modes. Move the mouse to highlight Hiragana and click to select. The input mode is now in Hiragana mode. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.

I have followed tutorials and made settings as instructed. However, when I go to Japanese language mode, it only allows me to type in the katakana alphabet, which is not adequate for writing Japanese. I do not find any option to switch to hiragana, for instance.

Nor do I find any option that works like the IME in Win XP — that is, you type with Roman letters, they display as hiragana, and then the IME shows a list of options which you can select from to get the proper Japanese syllable, word, etc. Am I missing something??
