My superb new computer hardware is crippled by a hopelessly muddled operating system. If Microsoft wants to remain relevant in the long term it needs to go back to basics. Commercial greed is rapidly pushing Microsoft into irrelevancy. I want an operating system to run the software I need and choose to load.

The principle should be to start with basic functionality and then allow the user to add whatever features he requires. No objection to having a suggested default addition of features, but the user should always have the choice whether to accept the default offering or not. Fortunately there are other routes available. The Ubuntu distribution of Linux is fast, secure, regularly updated with even the core refreshed, and provides seamless access to historic files etc.

Most of the time I use Ubuntu because it does what I need and gives me the least hassle. Being forced to use a whole new system is not my idea of good business. I guess if I wanted to use it like my ipad I would have liked a choice.

I am on my new HP that uses Windows I hate this new design. I guess Microsoft wants to force all of us to adapt to using like a tablet with Apps.

I just wanted a faster laptop to enjoy more speed while searching the internet. My 7 year old laptop with Windows 7 is more enjoyable to use. I will be taking this new one back tomorrow. I will go to a small computer shop and have them build a new one for me with Windows 7 installed. I suggest everyone that likes the classic view do the same.

I am not happy. I thought new programs were supposed to be easier to use. Until Microsoft makes a newer version of Windows that has a classic option I will not buy again. Hate Hate Hate this format.

Would not have bought new computer if had known!!! As for running faster and smoother it doesn’t my Toshiba on Window 7 ran better. I’m good with computers macs and windows alike. Windows 10 sucks when I found out I could go to classic without another program I realize how badly this idea was thought-out. Utterly absurd. J Ambrose. My old laptop gave up the ghost and was forced into Windows 10 with the new one and absolutely abhor the interface.

Some old dogs don’t want to learn new tricks. If I had known I would be forced to learn something new like this and not have the choice to use Windows in the classic view I have come to know and be proficient in, I would have bought a Mac and learned that instead.

There is one guarantee for sure from this point forward Microsoft has lost me forever as a customer including Office from here on out. My next laptop or tablet will be from Apple unless something is done about this. This site in other languages x.
